Kigelia Campsite

Our story

Family-run since 2017

Kigelia is looked after by Ben and Cassy Bonizzi, who live on the family farm about 30 minutes from the campsite.

Ben

Ben has lived in this part of Zambia his whole life. These days he works on the family farm, and he's also a mechanic who spends a good part of his week working on cars.

That makes him the person to talk to if your vehicle needs anything: a check over, a repair, or recovery if you get stuck somewhere on your journey.

Cassy

Cassy grew up in South Africa and then Lusaka, and married Ben in early 2026. She is passionate about animals, is studying to become a vet, and works on the farm too.

She's also an excellent cook and baker, which is good news if you'd like fresh bread or cake waiting when you arrive.

Fresh from the farm

Because they live on the farm, Ben and Cassy can bring fresh milk, butter, home-baked bread and cakes. Just ask when you enquire, or message ahead of your arrival.
